Education & Digital Safety

Empowering Elders Through Technology

We believe that digital literacy is not a luxury—it’s a lifeline. From accessing healthcare to staying in touch with family, the digital world can open doors for older adults. But without support, many elders are left behind, vulnerable to fraud, confusion, and isolation. Our Education & Digital Safety program is here to change that.

This initiative is designed to build confidence, safety, and independence through culturally sensitive tech education.

What the Program Offers

  • Beginner-Friendly Workshops: Hands-on sessions teaching the basics of using smartphones, tablets, computers, and the internet

  • One-on-One Tech Support: Personalized assistance for seniors who need extra time and care

  • Online Safety Training: Lessons on identifying scams, avoiding fraud, and protecting personal information

  • Social Connection Tools: Teaching elders how to video call, use WhatsApp, email, and access community apps

  • Cultural & Language Support: Sessions available in English, French, and other community languages (where possible)

  • Printed Guides: Simple, illustrated step-by-step booklets for home use

Who This Program is For

  1. Seniors 55+ who feel disconnected from technology
  2. Elders who have been victims of fraud or identity theft
  3. Black and racialized older adults whose cultural or language needs are often overlooked in traditional tech training
  4. Family members or caregivers who want to support their loved ones’ digital growth

Seniors

Why It Matters

Without tech access and safety skills, many seniors:

  • Struggle to book medical appointments
  • Feel isolated from children and grandchildren
  • Fall victim to scams or digital abuse
  • Miss out on community events and support

We prioritize individuals 55+, including those with disabilities, dementia, or language barriers.
