Frequently Asked Questions!

Everything you need to know about how we support seniors,
how you can get involved, and what makes our mission unique.

What is The Voice of Our Seniors?

We are a community-rooted nonprofit focused on improving the lives of older adults, especially Black and underserved seniors, through education, culturally inclusive care, intergenerational connection, and support services.

Who can access your programs?

Our programs are open to all older adults, with a focus on seniors from marginalized communities who may face isolation, cultural barriers, or systemic neglect. Family members and caregivers are also welcome to reach out for support.

I want to volunteer — where do I start?

Start by visiting our Volunteer Page. You’ll find details about the roles available and a form to help us match you with the right opportunity. Whether you're tech-savvy, speak multiple languages, or simply love chatting over tea — there's a place for you here.

Do I need prior experience to volunteer?

No! We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. We offer basic training and ongoing support to ensure you’re confident and comfortable in your role.

Are your services free for seniors?

Yes. Thanks to donations and community partnerships, our core services — from tech training to transportation — are provided at no cost to older adults.

How can I refer a senior who might need your help?

You can use our Contact Page to reach out with the senior’s name, needs, and your relationship to them. A team member will follow up confidentially and compassionately.

What makes your support “culturally inclusive”?

We recognize that aging experiences vary across cultures. We offer services in multiple languages, build programs around the needs of Black and racialized seniors, and train staff and volunteers on cultural sensitivity and anti-ageism practices.

How is The Voice of Our Seniors funded?

We are funded through community donations, grants, and partnerships. 100% of donations go toward expanding programs, training volunteers, and reaching more seniors in need.

Can my company or organization partner with you?

Absolutely! We welcome partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and faith-based groups. Contact us to discuss sponsorships, employee volunteer days, or co-hosted events.
